Protecting the Integrity & Reputation of Irish Horseracing

Gowranpark 27th May 2015

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

L.F. Roche rode Ballinlammy Gem (reserve), trained by Anthony Mullins (Race 6)

122C Gowran Park Golf Club H'cap

The Stewards informed W.J. Martin, trainer that Mystical Past, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

C.R. King, rider of Kodiac's Back trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run inside the final furlong.

122D Summer Fest. June 20th & 21st Rated Race

C.R. King, rider of Seaforth trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left during this race.

122E Gowran Park H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident about 2 furlongs from the finish involving Toccata Blue, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second, Star Links (USA), ridden by G.F. Carroll, unplaced and Maudlin Magdalen, ridden by C.R. King, unplaced, where it appeared that Star Links (USA) ran short of room and was checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action.

122F Kilkenny H'cap

K.J. Manning, rider of Golden Shoe, trained by J.T.Gorman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount moved badly and never travelled throughout the race.

J.T.Gorman, trainer of Golden Shoe, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge lost a front shoe and the other front shoe was noted to be loose post race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer confirmed to the Stewards that Golden Shoe had lost his near fore shoe.

The Stewards requested a report from Charles O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Naughty But Nice, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Charles O'Brien reported that his charge pulled very hard over one mile and three furlongs at Limerick 16th April when ridden prominently and consequently was dropped back in trip to a mile at Gowran Park 26th April. The filly was outpaced throughout that race and tonight she raced over the longer trip of ten furlongs and settled well early on which allowed her to finish well. He added that the application of the tongue strap may not have any significant bearing and was fitted because she wears it at home everyday. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Delightful Sleep (GB) trained by E.Sheehy was found to have burst a blood vessel when examined post race.

122G ISF EBF Median Auction (Fillies) M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Mixin N Scratchin, trained by Garvan Donnelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount moved poorly throughout.
