The Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Springbank, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Valerie Keatley, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that this horse got crowded in the early stages at Leopardstown last time and dropped out. The rider was instructed to ride the horse more handily today and get him into a rhythm as he can be lazy. This may have led to the apparent improvement in form today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
