The Stewards interviewed J.A. Powell, rider of Dalileo, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found J. A. Powell in breach of Regulation 10.3.b, the unnecessary hitting of a horse after its chance of winning or being place is clearly gone. Having considered J. A. Powell's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed H. J. Horgan, rider of Bluebeard's Castle (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found H. J. Horgan in breach of regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered H. J. Horgan's record in this regard the Stewards suspended H. J. Horgan for two racedays.

S.M. Mooney, rider of King Wasp trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room turning in.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Styledome, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed first and Froral Purl, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed fourth, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Styledome had not improved its position in relation to Floral Purl and they therfore made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action other than to advise R. C. Colgan to ride with more care in the future.

The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Styledome, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, placed first, compared with its most recent run. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that her charge had been running too keenly when ridden prominently and that a change of tactics today had allowed her charge to get cover and settle better, and this coupled with a step up to a mile had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Gary O'Gorman, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Senior Handicapper, who stated that todays run was a big improvement on it's previous run at Dundalk on the sixteenth of October and it was backed from 12/1 into 13/2 today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
