Protecting the Integrity & Reputation of Irish Horseracing

Dundalk 12th November 2014

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

G.J. Phillips replaced D.C. Byrne on The Fox Tully, trained by Gerard Keane (Race 6)(Stewards Permission)

311E Dundalk - Light Up Your Night H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Whaileyy, ridden by S. Foley, winner, and Kiss The Stars, ridden by C.R. King, unplaced, where it appeared Kiss The Stars suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion S. Foley was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays.

311G H'cap

E.J. McNamara, rider of Little Stampy, trained by D.Broad, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount unseated him coming out of stalls.

The Stewards requested a report from M.Halford, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Temasek Star, winner, as compared with its previous run here at Dundalk on 31st October where he finished 12th of 14 runners, beaten over 8 lengths.
Mr Halford reported that his charge was drawn very wide the last day, which was his first run under lights here at Dundalk, and tonight he had a better draw and they were able to ride him handily, and this may have brought about any improvement in form.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
