The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.Coen rode Ledger (reserve) trained by Paul Traynor (Race 7)

167A ELECC M'dn

Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a one minute delay to this race

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Charles Atlas, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

L.F. Roche, rider of Clonmacash (GB), trained by Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a false step on the road crossing and became momentarily unbalanced.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of G'day Mate (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.

167B Future Ticketing Supporting Irish H'cap

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Sneddy Eddie, trained by Mark Michael McNiff, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the starting stalls.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sneddy Eddie, trained by Mark Michael McNiff, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

167C Mount Charles H'cap

A.J. Slattery, rider of Adnaan (GB), trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no luck in running late on.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Tamazu, trained by F.Birrane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung a little left under pressure.

167D Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Maria Branwell, ridden by H.J. Horgan, placed fourth, and Greek Flower, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed second, where it appeared that Maria Branwell, ran short of room . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, H.J. Horgan stated that his mount stumbled on leaving the stalls and was slow to hold his position and accepted he should have taken back sooner than he did. L.F.Roche stated that he broke well from the stalls and felt that he was always clear as he gradually moved inwards to the running rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations of the riders and took no further action.

167E His Majesty's Plate

A.J. Slattery, rider of Wordsworth, trained by Josh Halley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the latter stages of this race involving Taipan (FR), ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed second, Wordsworth, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed fourth, La Hacienda (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, Mellow Magic (GB), ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed fifth, and Sea Oscar (GB), ridden by H.J. Horgan, placed sixth. where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, H.J. Horgan stated that he was weakening quickly when receiving a bump from his outside. G.F. Carroll stated that he received pressure from his outside. N.G. McCullagh stated that his horse moved in as a result of Wordsworth hanging inwards. A.J. Slattery stated that his mount jumped the road crossing and shifted inwards. S.C. McCullagh stated that he was clear and did not contribute to the interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards could not apportion blame on any single rider and therefore took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards informed Mrs Lorna Fowler, trainer that Agenda (GER), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Powerful Aggie (FR), placed first, as compared with its previous run on the 22nd April at Navan when finishing last of five runners beaten forty lengths by the winner Emily Dickinson over one mile six furlongs on heavy ground. The trainer reported that his charge returned to race at Navan after a lay off. He added that the step up in trip and the sounder underfoot conditions also contributed to the improved performance. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed A.J. Slattery, rider of Wordsworth, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race following receipt of photographic evidence submitted by the IHRB Veterinary Officer Graham Adams. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. In his evidence, A.J. Slattery stated that he use's his whip in a correct manner on every mount on every raceday. Mr. Josh Hally, trainer, stated that Wordsworth is a thin skinned animal and marks easily to his knowledge. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered all evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that A.J. Slattery was in breach of R10.3(f) by using his whip with excessive force. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended, A.J. Slattery for two racedays.

167F Freixenet Pro Median Auction M'dn

P.A. Harnett, rider of Glengarriff, trained by W.P.Browne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped after one furlong.

G.F. Carroll, rider of State's Evidence (GB), trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Michael Mulvany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Lia Fail, placed first, as compared with its recent run on the 4th June at Listowel when finishing last of seven runners beaten eleven lengths by the winner Rush Queen over six furlongs and sixty yards. Michael Mulvany reported that he ran two horses at Listowel on the 4th June and both disappointed for no apparent reason with no post race abnormality found. He added that Lia Fail ran very keen at Listowel but she settled well today and stayed on at the finish over the longer trip of seven furlongs. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

W.J. Lee, rider of St Laurence's Gate, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met with interference after one furlong.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Vangelis, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around in the straight.

M. Mjoka, rider of Begleys Forge, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green and moved awkwardly.

167G Laura Nicholas Memorial H'cap

The Raceday Stewards fined Andrew Slattery, trainer, €65 for failing fit the declared visor to Sunset Nova, prior to entering the parade ring.

W.J. Lee, rider of Epaulawn, trained by M.G.Quinn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very keen early on.
