133D Irish T Beginners S'chase

The Stewards received a report from Ms Inge D'haese M.R.C.V.S, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, in relation to her pre race inspection of Paddy's Faith trained by Garry Caldwell.. Having considered the report, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal Paddy's Faith. The Stewards subsequently interviewed Garry Caldwell, trainer, and Ms Inge D'haese, Turf Club Veterinary Officer concerning the findings of the pre race inspection of Paddy's Faith. Ms D'haese M.R.C.V.S stated that Paddy's Faith was on a list which required this animal to be inspected before he ran. She noted that the area around the withers was sore on palpation. She confirmed that in her opinion that this animal was not in an acceptable condition to be allowed to run. Garry Caldwell, trainer, confirmed the findings of the Turf Club Veterinary Officer and fully accepted the subsequent withdrawal of his charge on veterinary opinion. He forwarded an explanation in relation to the soreness around the withers. Having considered the evidence the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation forwarded by Garry Caldwell and referred this matter to the CEO of the Turf Club under rule 14(ii)(b) for further investigation.

133E Friday Feeling H'cap S'chase

The Stewards received a report from Paul Murtagh , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J.J. King , rider of Finea , weighed in at 1.6 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had lost 4lbs to ride at this weight and had a drink of water after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr J.J. King was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for 1 raceday.

133F East Down P-to-P Committee Hunters S'ch

Mr D. O'Connor, rider of Island Master, trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount slipped into the first fence and never travelled thereafter.

P.G.Coffey, trainer of Mags Bill, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped wrong post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Island Master, trained by W.J. Burke, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be slightly stiff post race.

The Stewards received a report from Ms Inge D'haese M.R.C.V.S, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, in relation to the conduct of W.J. Burke, trainer, while she was carrying out a post race examination of his charge Island Master at the request of the Stewards. Evidence was heard from Ms Inge D'haese who stated that she felt intimidated by W.J. Burke during the course of this examination. W.J. Burke accepted the complaint and stated that his actions were completely out of order. He apologised to Ms D'haese for his unacceptable behaviour. Having considered the report, the Stewards were satisfied that the conduct of W.J. Burke was in breach of Rule 272 and consequently fined him €250 having taken his excellent previous record into consideration.

133G Very Talented (Ladies) INH Flat Race

Miss J.M. Mangan, rider of Rightback Atya trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount never travelled throughout this race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Rightback Atya, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame behind post race.
