The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Denis Hickey, trainer of Countess Cathleen (Off Feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S.W. Flanagan rode Dasmyhoss (reserve) , trained by P.J. Rothwell (Race 5)

339A Clonmel M'dn H'dle

J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Siberian Star (GB) trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left.

339B Powerstown H'cap H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Padraig Roche, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Marshalled, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse was running in his first handicap today. He was one of only six finishers on very testing ground last time out at Fairyhouse while today's ground was more suitable. He felt they may have gone very fast today and with the race falling apart a bit he was able to take advantage. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

339C Jim Strang & Sons Kilsheelan H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Rathvinden trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got very tired.

339D Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Sea Scorpion trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was nearly knocked down coming down the hill.

The Stewards interviewed L.A. McKenna, rider of Mlily, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account cautioned the rider.

E. O'Connell, rider of Pino Boy trained by Mrs Ann Mooney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action.

Mrs Ann Mooney, trainer of Pino Boy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her charge got struck into.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pino Boy, trained by Mrs Ann Mooney, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have presented with a wound on his right fore pastern and gave a cough when examined post race.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Capture The Action, ridden by O.R. Brown, Farranreigh, ridden by L. Quinlan, Klassy Kay, ridden by P.J. O'Hanlon, Sea Scorpion, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, and Mlily, ridden by L.A. McKenna, where it appeared Sea Scorpion and Farranreigh got tight for room on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found P.J. O'Hanlon in breach of Rule 214 by riding carelessly and having taken his record into account cautioned him.

The Stewards fined Oliver McKiernan, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Difficult Decision, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Difficult Decision in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

339E1 Clonmel Supporters Club Beginners S'chse

D.E. Mullins, rider of Ballymac Boy trained by Ms Margaret Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.

339E2 Clonmel Supporters Club Beginners S'chse

At the request of the Stewards, P.E. Corbett, rider of Bridge Native, trained by Mrs D.A.Love, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was having her first run after a wind operation and ran short of room slightly at the second last fence.

339F Club Stand Restaurant H'cap S'chase

M.P. Walsh, rider of Steer Clear trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Steer Clear, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race and was showing signs of being stiff behind. Samples were taken for analysis.

339G Next Meeting Jan 9th (QR) M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Saint Roi (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
