IHRB Announce Seminars on Prohibited Substances – Managing the Risk

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) today announced that it will hold three Seminars to advise trainers, handlers and their staff and veterinarians on reducing their risk of positive tests, which have increased significantly in recent months, and to provide an update on the types of substances involved.  

The seminars ‘Prohibited Substances – Managing the Risk’ will be held on:

  1. Thursday, 6th September 2018 at City North Hotel, Gormanston, Co. Meath from 7-9pm, (after Laytown races);
  2. Wednesday, 26th September at the Offices of the IHRB, The Curragh, Co. Kildare from 2.30-4.30pm, and
  3. Wednesday, 3rd October at the Horse and Jockey Hotel, Horse and Jockey, Co. Tipperary from 7-9pm (after Cork Races).

 IHRB Chief Veterinary Officer/Head of Anti-Doping, Dr. Lynn Hillyer and IHRB Veterinary Officers, Nicola O’Connor and Alan Dunlop will lead four short presentations followed by a question and answer session.

The Seminars will provide insight into:-

 Recognising the key role of the equine veterinarians in this area, IHRB has teamed up with the Veterinary Council of Ireland to secure CPD credits for attendance at these seminars.
