The following trainers were fined €200 in each case for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (v) (vi):- Mr. A. Oliver for Above The Law (lame) at Navan on 10th October and Mr. K.J. Condon for Lady Imola (in season) at Tramore on 12th October.

276F(i) Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap (Division One) & Mr. M. Halford, trainer of Zalanga, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday 17th October that his charge was still slightly lame and was found to be in season post race.
Roscommon Meeting, 15th October 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: The following riders replaced A.P. Thornton (unwell):- D.P. McDonogh rode Chillie Billie (GB), trained by Mr. J. Larkin (second race); F. Lynch rode Jawsome, trained by Mr. Dermot Anthony McLoughlin (third race) and R.C. Colgan rode Houdini Bright (USA), trained by Mr. Dermot Anthony McLoughlin (sixth race).
359B €5 Admission Handicap & M.M. Monaghan, rider of Oranfinitis, trained by Mr. Desmond McDonogh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount received accidental interference in the closing stages but that he was beaten at the time.
C.P. Hoban, rider of Crystal Harmony, trained by Mr. P.J. Prendergast, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room leaving the back straight and as a result received a check.
359C Oran Maiden & F. Lynch, rider of Jawsome, trained by Mr. Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount appeared listless, hung left in the back straight and was therefore pulled up
359F Roscommon Racecourse Thanks You For Your Support in 2012 Handicap Hurdle & C.D. Maxwell, rider of Music On D Waters, trained by Mr. Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was unable to handle today’s ground.
Curragh Meeting, 16th October 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: P.J. Smullen replaced S.M. Gorey (Stewards Permission – original mount a non-runner) on Pay Day Kitten (USA), trained by Mr. D.K. Weld (first race).
360A Curragh Dining & Hospitality Options 2013 Maiden & The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Pay Day Kitten (USA), ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed second, and Rock N Rover, ridden by E.J. McNamara, unplaced, after it appeared that Rock N Rover clipped a heel and stumbled.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Steward found the evidence to be inconclusive, were unable to apportion blame to any rider and therefore took no further action.
360B Curragh Membership 2013 Maiden & The Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Attorney Street, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in closing.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Heffernan was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he had used his whip when his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for three race days (2nd, 4th and 9th November).
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Attorney Street, trained by Mr. F. Costello, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount gurgled in running.
360C Curragh Gift Vouchers Handicap & The Stewards interviewed James J. Doyle, rider of Fast On, dead heated for second place, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, and from Mr. Seamus Fahey, trainer of Fast On.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that James J. Doyle was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken his recent record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for two race days (2nd and 4th November) and ordered that he familiarise himself with the Rules, particularly those pertaining to the use of the whip.
360D www.curragh.ie Nursery Handicap & G.J. Phillips, rider of Light Particle, trained by Mr. John Patrick Shanahan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount missed the break and was slowly away. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Light Particle was found to be post race normal.
Punchestown Meeting, 18th October 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: Mr. J.J. Codd replaced Mr. D.L. Queally (unwell) on Torremuelle, trained by Mr. David Edward Finn (seventh race).
281C 10 Euro Admission All Non Festival Racedays Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. J.A. Berry, trainer of the winner Civena, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s recent form.
Mr. Berry reported that this mare had been consistent in her previous runs except for the last run at Tipperary when she made a bad mistake early on and appeared to lose her confidence, causing her to lose interest. He added that she was inclined to run in snatches and did so today but P. Townend, rider, left her alone and she appeared to relish his kind handling. Mr. Berry also added that she had previously won a Point to Point early in her career and the trip of three miles did not pose a problem. Since her last run at Tipperary she was in full training and Mr. Berry further added that today’s ground conditions was very much to her liking.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted its content.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Neighbourly, trained by Mr. Paul Magnier, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly in this race.
281E Star ‘Best For Racing Coverage’ Steeplechase & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. Gordon Elliot, trainer of the winner Roi Du Mee (FR), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s recent form.
Mr. Elliot reported that his charge made his seasonal return at Gowran Park in a Grade two Steeplechase won by Sizing Europe and became tired in a true run race. However, he felt that he benefited from that run and had a fitness edge over his rivals today. Mr. Elliott added that his charge won this race last year and was suited when dictating matters at his own pace, on today’s type of ground and over a staying trip.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted its content.
281F Ingoldsby (Q.R) Handicap Steeplechase & Mrs Pauline Gavin, trainer of Optime, reported to a Racing Official that his charge was found to be lame post race.

282B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the bend leaving the back straight involving Drifting Mist (GB), ridden by C.P. Hoban, Merciful Hour, ridden by S.H. James, Mollsrob, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Pastiches (GB), ridden by S. Foley, all unplaced, after it appeared that Merciful Hour, Mollsrob and Pastiches (GB) all suffered interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.P. Hoban was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having taken his record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for two race days (9th and 16th November).
Mr. J.M. McGrath, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
The Stewards informed Mr. Jarlath P. Fahey, trainer of Elusive Spring, that his charge would have to be re-certified before being declared to run from stalls again.
282C Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C&G) Maiden & J.F. Egan, rider of Blistering Dancer, trained by Mr. Patrick J. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly throughout this race.
282D Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Handicap & A representative of Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Go On Murt, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge was found to be coughing post race.
282F(i) Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap (Division One) & The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after turning into the home straight involving Atmospheric High, ridden by J.P. Murtagh, placed second, and Hasten, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fifth, after it appeared that Atmospheric High suffered interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having taken his record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for two race days (26th October and 2nd November).
P.J. Smullen, rider of Bobskier, trained by Mr. Gerard O’Leary, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat in this race.
282F(ii) Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap (Division Two) & E.J. McNamara, rider of Viva Diva (GB), trained by Mr. John C. McConnell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well but the leaders quickened away from him up the straight but ran on past tired horses late.
282G Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Brendan Bracken, trained by Mr. G.M. Lyons, was found to be post race normal.
Cork Meeting, 20th October 2012

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.A. Curtis was in breach of R10(3)(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his excellent record in this regard into account, they therefore cautioned him.
283F Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. K.J. Condon, trainer of the winner Mont Blanc (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s recent form.
Mr. Condon reported that this filly had its first run in a handicap at Roscommon September 3rd but she was hampered on the first bend which appeared to alight her and she ran too free down the back straight before tiring. She re-appeared at the Curragh on October 14th in the Irish Ceasarewitch but the two mile trip proved too far and she was eight pounds out of the handicap. He added that today’s victory was as a result of a very patient ride from off the pace and she used the length of the straight to get into full stride. Ear plugs were also fitted and this helped her to relax.

283G Cork Racecourse Facebook Maiden & L.F. Roche, rider of Pacelli Road, trained by Mr. D.K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost momentum in the straight but ran on close home.

Carberry rode The Boat People, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead (third race) and Beckwith Star, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead (sixth race) and D.N. Russell rode Echo Bob, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead (fourth race).
284A corkracecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle & S.W. Flanagan, rider of Matt Gem, trained by Miss Mary Louise Hallahan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat on today’s ground.
284B I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed M.P. Butler, rider of Dreaming On, placed third, concerning his riding in the closing stages where his mount appeared to lose her action.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that the horse momentarily lost her action approaching the last hurdle. He added that she felt sound on the run in and he held his mount together, riding her out hands and heels. He found that on pulling up, she again lost her action and felt lame so he immediately dismounted.
Following the running of the race Dreaming On was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards and was found to be lame post race.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of his explanation and took no further action.
The Stewards fined Mr. J.H. Culloty, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Hard To Swallow in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
284C Christmas Party Raceday December 9th Handicap Hurdle & D.N. Russell, rider of Courtncatcher, trained by Mr. Patrick J. Duffy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered and was therefore pulled up.
284E Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Novice Steeplechase & P. Townend, rider of Ballyadam Brook, trained by Mr. Terence O’Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly and appeared to be lame on pulling up. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Ballyadam Brook was found to be lame post race.
284F racinghomeforeaster.com Handicap Hurdle & P. Carberry, rider of Beckwith Star, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well until the turn for home and found nothing thererafter.
284G Paddy Power Cork Grand National November 4th (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. R.J. Kiely, rider of Get Back To Me, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Kiely was in breach of Regulation 10(3)(F) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his excellent previous record into account, they therefore severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.
Naas Meeting, 21st October 2012
Mr. Edward Lynam, trainer of Slade Power, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be very lame following his run at Ascot the previous day.
285A Tifrums European Breeders Fund (C&G) Maiden & W.J. Lee, rider of Doc Holliday, trained by Mr. Edward Lynam, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount unseated him on the way to the start and ran loose for a time prior to the race.
285C Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Birdcatcher Premier Nursery & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving the winner Snow Queen, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, Ballyorban, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, Muaanid (GB), ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed third, and Gathering Power, ridden by F. Lynch, placed fourth, after it appeared that interference took place.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
285D Profile Systems Kommerling C70 Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. Michael O’Hare, trainer of the winner Special Bar, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s recent form.
Mr. O’Hare reported that the application of a tongue strap today may have brought about an apparent improvement.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
B.J. Cooper, rider of Troubled, trained by Mr. D.T. Hughes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became very tired on today’s ground. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Troubled was found to be blowing hard post race.
Mr. Michael Fitzsimons, trainer of Bobbackpaddy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge made a strong noise during the race. The trainer subsequently reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 22nd October that his charge was found to be post race normal.
285E Profile Systems ‘Celebrating 35 Years’ Handicap Hurdle & Mrs Prunella Dobbs, trainer of Our Gar, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge was found to have a respiratory tract infection following an endoscopic examination post race.
285F Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Garnet Stakes & The Stewards informed Mr. J.S. Bolger, trainer of Loreto, that his charge would have to be re-certified before being declared to run from stalls again.
285G Naas October Handicap & The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving Leroy Parker, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed second, Scots Gaelic, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed third, One Cool Shabra, ridden by S.H. James, Jack Daddy (GB), ridden by W.M. Lordan, and Sinntani, ridden by L.F. Roche, all unplaced, after it appeared that Sinntani suffered some interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards observed the incident and found it to be accidental due to the fact that the starting stalls could not be used owing to ground conditions and that the starting position was on an approach to the bend.
285H Become A Go Racing In Kildare Member (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. R.A. Latta, rider of Celerity Rules, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Latta was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, they therefore cautioned him and advised him to familiarise himself with the Rules pertaining to the use of the whip.
Mr. M. Watson, rider of Tighty Whities, trained by Mr. R.K. Watson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped in this race.
