The following trainer was fined €200 for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provision of Rule 194 (v) (vi):- Mrs. John Harrington for Polished Rock (stiff) at Cork on 30th March 

Cork Meeting, 31st March 2013

061C Munster Waste Management Handicap Hurdle & J.J. Walsh, trainer of Sligo Republican, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be in season post race.

Fairyhouse Meeting, 31st March 2013

062B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final & Michael Winters, trainer of Missunited, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 8th April that his charge scoped badly post race.

 Cork Meeting, 1st April 2013

The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of riders at this meeting:-
Mr. L.P Flynn rode Nothin To Say (reserve), trained by P.J. Rothwell (Race 1). (See Enquiry).
Mr. D. Murphy rode Mayo Calling (reserve), trained by James Daniel Dullea (Race 4).

063A Friday Evening Racing At Cork Racecourse (Q.R) Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards received a request from P.J. Rothwell, trainer of Nothin To Say, to substitute the nominated rider Mr. D.P. Howard, with Mr. L.P. Flynn, as the nominated rider was overweight.
Evidence was heard from Mr D.P. Howard, who stated that he gave a commitment to the trainer that he would do the weight, but despite his best efforts to loose weight, he would have had to carry at least four pounds overweight.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, while they also cautioned Mr. Howard concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

Mr. R.O. Harding, rider of Bridies Boy, trained by Ms. Michelle Duggan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was found to have a burst blood vessel post race.

063C Fegentri World Championship (Q.R) Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from James Grace, trainer  of the winner De Benno, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s recent form.
Mr. Grace reported that his charge had disappointed in his last few starts. He said that following his Navan run the horse worked poorly and after some time was examined by a back specialist who did some manipulation. The horse was subsequently given a break and came back moving and working better. The trainer concluded by saying that his charge handled today’s ground well.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

The Stewards received a report from P.L. Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr. M.J. O’Connor, rider of Blue Dynasty weighed in 2.7lbs. overweight.
Evidence was heard from Oliver J. Power, the trainer concerned, who stated that the girths broke en route to the parade ring so he had to change girths, but did not reweigh at scales.
Evidence was also heard from the rider concerned, who stated that the new girths weighed considerably more than his old girths and in addition to this he also had a drink of water having weighed out. He said that both things contributed to the overweight , while he also said that he failed to remove his gloves, breast plate and goggles when weighing in.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 148 in that he removed the girth and replaced it after weighing out. Having taken his record into consideration, the Stewards therefore fined him €200. Furthermore the rider was found to be in breach of Rule 231 having weighed in over the allowed weight. Having taken his record into account, the Stewards also fined him €200.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that The Muddy Hill, trained by Patrick Breen, was found to be in season post race.


063D Coolmore N.H. Sires Fame And Glory & Sans Frontieres Maiden Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Mr. J.B. Joyce, rider of Dr Patmassini, placed fourth, concerning his use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Joyce was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards cautioned him as to his further responsibilities in this regard.

Liam Kenny, trainer of Twin Joy (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to have a burst blood vessel post race.

Mr. D. Skehan, rider of Castlecooke Andy, trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped in this race.

063E Pegus Horse Feed Point-To-Point Series Final I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards fined Shane Kieran Ryder, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Halls Bridge in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

Mr. J. Hurley, rider of Baku Bay, trained by P.M.J. Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped in this race.

063F corkracecourse.ie (Q.R) Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Mr. M.P. Fogarty, rider of the winner Don’t Back Down, concerning his use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Fogarty was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10 4 in that he had failed to give his mount time to respond.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for four race days (16th, 19th, 22nd and 23rd April).

063G Jack Tyner Memorial Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards fined E. Bolger, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Festive Affair in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

063H Cork & Waterford Mares Point-To-Point I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. E.M. O’Sullivan, rider of Hurricane Lauren, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. O’Sullivan was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he continued to use his whip when his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (16th and 19th April).

Fairyhouse Meeting, 1st April 2013

The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of his non-runner:-.
Oliver McKiernan, trainer of Whodoyouthink (Declared in Error) - €200.

The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of rider at this meeting-.
M.P. Walsh replaced A.P. Cawley on Jadanli, trained by Paul John Gilligan (Race 5) Stewards Permission – (See enquiry).

064C Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Novice Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Tennis Cap, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

064E Ladbrokes Irish Grand National Steeplechase & The Stewards received a request from Paul John Gilligan, trainer of Jadanli, to substitute the nominated rider A.P. Cawley, with M.P. Walsh in this race.
Mr Gilligan stated that A. P. Cawley had confirmed that he would ride the horse on Friday morning but subsequently phoned him to say he would be unavailable to ride Jadanli as he was required to ride in England.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitution, but referred the matter to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for further investigation.

R. Walsh, rider of Marasonnien (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a noise in running and was therefore pulled up.

The Stewards requested a report from Mrs. D.A. Love, trainer of the winner Liberty Counsel, regarding the apparent improvement in form of her charge compared with the horse’s recent form at Cheltenham where she finished 13th of 24.
The trainer reported that this horse’s best form is on better ground and today’s drying ground suited much better than last time.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.  

B.T. O’Connell, rider of Rich Revival, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled on today’s ground.

Mr J.E. Flynn, rider of Goonyella, trained by J.T.R. Dreaper, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped and he therefore pulled his mount up.

064H Easter Festival I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Ms. K. Walsh, rider of the winner The Mighty Milan,  concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Ms. K. Walsh was in breach of Regulation 10 3.(f) in that she used her whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken her record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended her for one race day (16th April).  

The Stewards interviewed Miss J.M. Mangan, rider of Azorian, placed second, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss J.M. Mangan was in breach of Regulation 10 3.(f) in that she used her whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken her record into account, the Stewards severely cautioned her as to her future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards interviewed Mr. J. Reddington, rider of Agent James, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Reddington was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he continued to hit his horse after his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards severely cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.

Fairyhouse Meeting, 2nd April 2013

The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of rider at this meeting:-.
D.J. Condon replaced P. Carberry on Cherrys Son, trained by John Neilan (Race 6) Injured.

065A Weatherbys Ireland GSB Hurdle & Sabrina J. Harty, trainer of Dalasiri, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge scoped badly post race.

065B John & Chich Fowler Memorial European Breeders Fund Mares Steeplechase & The Stewards requested a report from Nicky Henderson, trainer of the winner Nadiya De La Vega (FR), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s recent run at Cheltenham where she pulled up.
The trainer’s representative reported that this mare likes to get her own way. The race at Cheltenham was very competitive and she travelled well to half way before being pulled up. The representative also said that the mare was able to race more prominently today and that suited her.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.

B.J. Geraghty, rider of Our Girl Salley, trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was off the bridle from an early stage and was therefore pulled up.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Our Girl Salley at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame in front post race.

D.N. Russell, rider of Belle Brook trained by Michael Cullen, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the third last fence and was therefore pulled up.

065C www.thetote.com Handicap Hurdle &  R.C. Colgan, rider of Mad Brian, trained by Mrs Gillian Callaghan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled on today’s ground.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Mad Brian at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

065E Fairyhouse Committee Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into possible interference at the final fence involving the winner Sword Fish, ridden by A.P. Crowe, and Good Fella, ridden by M.F. Mooney, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
