The Stewards interviewed C.A. Landers, rider of Turnpike Trip, regarding the fact that he pulled his mount up after the first fence. The Stewards noted that C.A. Landers reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount went wrong after jumping the first fence. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he felt he was flat out and on his head going into the fence and maybe his mount was feeling the ground. He felt his mount was wrong after the second or third stride following the fence, he pulled up and found his mount was holding up his left fore leg. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer that Turnpike Trip was post race normal and samples were taken for analysis. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

Cathal Byrnes, trainer of Turnpike Trip (GB), reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board that his charge was found to be lame post race.

C.A. Landers, rider of Broder trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount found the ground too quick and pulled up.

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Filon D'oudairies (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ashley Hussey, authorised representative, reported that the step up in trip to two and a half miles today along with being ridden closer to the pace may have helped to bring about an improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report.
