The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Gone Galavanting, ridden by E.M. Roche, and trained by Peter Fahey. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative concerned. E.M. Roche, stated that he was instructed to jump off about three quarters the way back in the field of runners, get his mount jumping and travelling well and to ride out as best he can. He added that in running his mount had jumped and travelled well and he was delighted with the run. He felt that he had put his mount into the race around three furlongs out and had ridden to the best of his ability but he himself had got tired from the last hurdle possibly as a result of a lack of race riding on a regular basis. He summarised the run as being above expectations and no closer placing could have been achieved. He confirmed to the Stewards that his mount felt good at all stages and gave no feeling of any abnormality throughout this race. Paul Harrison, Authorised Representative for Peter Fahey confirmed the instructions and felt that their charge had only passed tired horses going to the line. In his opinion he was satisfied with the ride but felt that the rider got weak in the closing stages. He added that their charge had a small wound on a hind leg post race but was otherwise clear of any abnormality. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Gone Galavanting had sustained a minor wound to her right hind cannon and furthermore had slight abrasions on both sides of her mouth which had bled slightly possibly as a result of bit soreness but otherwise was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the trainer and rider had breached Rule 212 (A). The Stewards fined Peter Fahey €2,000 through his Authorised representaive and suspended Gone Galavanting for 42 days. Furthermore the Stewards suspended E.M. Roche for 5 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.
