The Stewards enquired into an incident at the turn out of the back straight involving Hawthorn Echo, ridden by G.P. Brouder, unplaced, Luna's Luck, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced, Bouquet Garni, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed second and Lady Ranger, ridden by D.M. Melia, unplaced, where it appeared that Lady Ranger was tight for room along the running rail and checked thereby losing her position. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action.
