The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Highland Sting (going) - €200
Declan Queally, trainer of Ashqar (going) - €200.

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R. J. Condon replaced S. O'Callaghan on Bears Hug, trained by Adrian Sexton (Race 4)(Injured)
R. J. Condon replaced S. O'Callaghan on Dixon Line (GB), trained by Adrian Sexton (Race 5)(Injured)
J. B. Foley replaced S. O'Callaghan on Iluvyounow, trained by Ross O'Sullivan (Race 6)(Injured)

183A Knockcroghery Claiming H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Scarpeta (FR), trained by Andrew McNamara, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a wound to its left fore cannon but to be otherwise post race normal.

J.G. Gilligan, rider of Henry's Girlie trained by Fintan Feeney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not jump well.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. H. T. Hynes, that J.G. Gilligan, rider of Henry's Girlie, had weighed in at 1.5lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J. G. Gilligan was in breach of Rule 231, weighing in heavy. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned J. G. Gilligan on this occasion.

183B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

Kieran Callaghan, rider of I Ain't No Joke trained by Eoin Griffin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was reluctant to start.

P.T. Smithers, rider of Glendars Mahler, trained by James Andrew Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount tried to run out and slipped up before the hurdle.

183C SuperValu Ladies Day Rated Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ballybaun Star, trained by Thomas Gibney, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

At the request of the Stewards, D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Ballybaun Star, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well but found very little in the home straight.

183D Larry O'Farrelly Memorial M'dn H'dle

D.E. Mullins, rider of Big Island trained by W.J.Lanigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very free.

P.T. Enright, rider of Comeinifyelike trained by S. Curling, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran free and finished lame.

183E Re/Max Team Earley H'cap H'dle

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Ballinlough Gale trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too free.

The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Petrol Head, trained by Ronan M.P. McNally, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that a change of tactics today coupled with an improvement in the form of his yard and a significant non runner today had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Andrew Shaw, IHRB Handicapper who briefly outlined the previous form of the horse and concluded by adding that todays performance represented a marked improvement somewhere in the region of twenty one pounds. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

183F Roscommon Herald H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Park Hind, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, Dalileo, ridden by S. Fenelon and Coconoir, ridden by C. Brassil, where it appeared that Coconoir and Dalileo both got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K. M. Donoghue stated that his mount dived for the rail despite his best efforts. S. Fenelon stated that he got a little tight on the rail. C. Brassil stated that he momentarily had to check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise K. M. Donoghue to ride with more awareness in the future.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. H. T. Hynes , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J.W. Reilly, rider of Alfieri, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. J. W. Reilly was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

183G EBF (Mares)(Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Nurse Garvey trained by Muredach Kelly was showing signs of being in season post race.

The Stewards interviewed Miss L.S. Howard, rider of Valamar, concerning her use of the whip closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that she was very inexperienced and was having only her second ride, but fully accepted that she was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Miss Howard was in breach of Regulation 10.3(frequency) and 10.3(b)(unnecessary use) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they suspended her for one raceday.
