The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Prince Zaltar (FR), ridden by M.J. Doyle, and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. M.J. Doyle, stated that he recently rode this animal at Naas where he ran very free. Today he was instructed to drop his mount out, switch him off, get him to settle, creep into the race at a later stage and to do his best. On viewing the video recording of the race he explained that he complied with his riding instructions but felt that his mount only stayed on past tired horses from the third last hurdle and could not have finished any closer. He added that he reported to the trainer post race that his mount had whinnied after passing the finish line. P.J. Rothwell, confirmed the riding instructions and expressed his satisfaction with the manner that they were carried out but felt that the rider should have pushed his mount out harder from the second last hurdle. He added that his charge had whinnied on pulling up and in his opinion needs a longer trip. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Prince Zaltar (FR) was post race normal and reminded them that P.J. Rothwell had reported that his charge had whinnied post race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations of the rider and trainer. Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.J. Doyle was in breach of Rule 213 by failing to report at first instance anything that may have affected the running of Prince Zaltar (FR). Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M.J. Doyle for one raceday on this occasion.

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final one hundred yards involving Difficult Decision, ridden by S. Fitzgerald and She's Commanche, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, where it appeared that She's Commanche was checked when crossed by Difficult Decision. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence S.W. Flanagan stated that he had received a little interference when crossed close to the line by Difficult Decision and checked off heels. S. Fitzgerald stated that he had his whip in his right hand when his mount veered quickly to the left and into the path of She's Commanche. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards advised S. Fitzgerald to ride with more care in the future.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had expected to put up 1lb overweight, but unfortunately he could only do 3 lbs overweight.
