A.W. Short, rider of Smig Suas trained by V. T. O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he pulled up, his mount having burst.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Smig Suas, trained by V. T. O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported that the animal was found to have an exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage post race.
T. Ryan, rider of Highstreetfashion trained by Patrick Rooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen early on.
347D John Lynch Carpets M'dn H'dleThe Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Last Minute Man, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, placed third, Run Wild Fred, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed first and Joshua Webb, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed second, where it appeared the three horses came close together on the run to the last hurdle. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Run Wild Fred, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account cautioned him.
347F navanadventurecentre.ie H'cap S'chaseOn foot of the receipt of a photograph sent to them from A.L. McKeever, IHRB Judge, the Stewards enquired into the positioning of a racecourse photographer during today's meeting where it appeared the agreed protocols were not being adhered to. Evidence was heard from Mr. Peter Killeen, Racecourse Manager and Mr. Pat Healy, Photographer. Recordings of the apparent breaches of the agreed protocols were viewed by the Stewards. The photographic evidence submitted by the Judge was also viewed. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted Mr. Healy's apology regarding his breach of the agreed protocols and his assurance that he would follow the protocols in future. The Stewards advised Mr. Healy that if there was a breach of protocol at any track in the future, the matter may be referred to the IHRB.
