At the request of the Stewards, John C. McConnell, trainer of Streets Of Doyen, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he had declined opportunities recently to run his charge over a longer trip on heavy ground as he is a light framed horse and therefore ran over a much shorter trip today on more favourable ground. He added that at the moment there were no suitable opportunities for his charge to run prior to his intended engagement at the Cheltenham festival. .

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Call A Cab, trained by P.A.Fahy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.M. Moore, rider of You Say Nothing trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly to the right throughout before being pulled up.

The Stewards enquired into an incident between the last two hurdles involving Shakeytry, ridden by P.T. Enright, placed fourth and Light Brigade, ridden by K.J. Brouder, placed first, where it appeared that Light Brigade having jumped right at the second last hurdle then made his way back towards the inner and may have crossed the racing line of Shakeytry. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied to take no further action.

The Stewards enquired into the reason for the false start to this race and the procedures adopted by the starter to signal the false start. Evidence was heard from Mr. P.L. Malone, IHRB Starter, who stated that the starting mechanism was not in his reach when the runners approached the starting tape and he called for his assistant to release it. He said that he communicated with the advance flagman but accepted that he did not carry out the provisions of Rule 209 whereby his signal of a "false start" should have been done by waving his red flag. Having considered all the evidence and viewed a recording of the false start, the Stewards reminded Mr Malone of his responsibility to effect a start by correct protocols and furthermore that a red flag must be raised to signal a false start.
