The Stewards enquired into the reasons why Hand Of The King, trained by Patrick Neville, appeared in the parade ring wearing visors when he had been declared with blinkers. The horse was consequently late arriving at the start due to the time taken to rectify the error and the race was started two minutes after the official off time. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that the wearing of visors was an error on his part and he apologised to the Stewards for the oversight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards reminded the trainer of his responsibilities and cautioned him to ensure that his charges appear with the correct head gear in the parade ring in future.

Mr. Michael J. Doyle, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.
