D.N. Russell, rider of Serious Ego (GER) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount travelled to about half way and was beaten from thereon.
060C Racing Again On April 27th (Mares) H'dleD.J. McInerney, rider of Rock On Bennie trained by Ray Hackett, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled or jumped during this race.
060D Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dleThe Stewards enquired into possible interference close to the winning post involving Veneziano Springs (FR), ridden by L.P. Gilligan, placed first, De Mazzaro, ridden by L.A. McKenna, placed third and Mutadaffeq, ridden by C.P. McNamara, placed second, where it appeared that Veneziano Springs (FR) drifted to Mutadaffeq and left De Mazzaro tight for room when challenging between horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, caution L.P. Gilligan for failing to take reasonable steps to avoid causing interference, this being a breach of Rule 214.
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Galuppi (GB) trained by J.R.Finn, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was reluctant to jump off at the start.
The Stewards requested a report from Terence O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Veneziano Springs (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run. Terence O'Brien reported that his charge had experienced respiratory problems in the past and struggled in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle on his most recent run on soft ground at Gowran. Today he reverted back to two miles on good ground conditions and this suited his syle of running. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
060E Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Nick Lost (FR), trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
060F Buy Twilight Racing Ticket H'cap S'chaseThe Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of Goulane Chosen, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. McInerney was in breach of R (10)(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.J. McInerney for 5 racedays.
060G Kevin McManus Bookmaker (P-Am) Flat RaceThe Stewards enquired into an incident in the latter stages of this race involving Farceur Du Large (FR), ridden by Mr M.J. O'Hare, placed third and Slip Road, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed fourth, where it appeared that both horses collided when challenging. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.
The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Hogan, rider of Ebadali, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr J. Hogan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
