187D International Hotel H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Emperor Bob, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul Harrison, Authorised representative of Peter Fahey, reported that their charge disappointed at Dundalk when making his reappearance over the longer distance of about one mile three furlongs after a seven month break, whereas his most recent run at Roscommon was an improvement on Dundalk but he broke slowly, was dropped in and stayed on well. He added that C.D. Hayes suggested after the race at Roscommon that their charge should be fitted with blinkers to sharpen him. In his opinion the application of blinkers and reverting back to one mile were the contributing factors to the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Curly Girl trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room when challenging about one and a half furlongs from the finish and checked to switch inside other horses.

S. Foley, rider of Mzuri trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had no room to challenge inside the final furlong.
