K.J. Leonard, rider of Adamantly trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel during this race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Adamantly trained by Richard John O'Brien was noted to have blood on both nostrils as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Coasting Along, trained by J.H. Scott, for failing to lodge the passport in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

184B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med Auct Race

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that A. Mackay, rider of Snow Leopard, had presented himself to weigh out at 2lbs overweight where such overweight had not been declared under Rule 195 (i). Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had shed some weight to ride at the correct weight but had rehydrated before weighing out. Evidence was also heard from John Joseph Murphy, trainer of Snow Leopard. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed A. Mackay to ride Snow Leopard but fined him €150 for a breach of Rule 198 (vii)(a).

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pythion (FR), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that A. Mackay, rider of Snow Leopard, had weighed in at 1.5lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had rehydrated after he had weighed out at 2lbs overweight and this was the reason for his further increase in weight. He confirmed that he had not changed any equipment from the time of weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that A. Mackay was in breach of Rule 231 (i) by failing to draw the weight at which he had weighed out and therefore suspended him for 1 raceday.

184E Killarney Avenue Hotel H'cap S'chase

The Stewards enquired into possible interference on the approach to the second last fence involving Rock Road, ridden by B. Hayes, placed third and Mister Butler, ridden by P.J. Cawley, unseated rider at the second last fence, where it appeared that Mister Butler ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the interference was caused by B. Hayes riding dangerously. The Stewards using their powers under Rule 214 disqualified Rock Road from third place with the amended result to read; First; Island Master, Second; Invinsible Don, Third; Motcomb Street (USA). Furthermore the Stewards suspended B. Hayes for 14 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.

B. Hayes, rider of Rock Road trained by Michael J. Bowe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount cocked his jaw approaching the second last fence and went to run out before the wing of the fence.

The Stewards interviewed S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Invincible Don, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. The IHRB Veterinary Officer furnished a report supported by photographic evidence. Having viewed a recording of the race, considered the evidence and the Veterinary report the Stewards were of the opinion that S.F. O'Keeffe was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive force and R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended S.F. O'Keeffe for 3 racedays

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Invincible Don, had weighed in at 1.4lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had shed an amount of weight to ride at a very light weight and rehydrated after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S.F. O'Keeffe was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.
