The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Ms. N.A. Barry rode Scully's Dream, trained by James Andrew Fahey (Race 2)(Stewards permission)

352A Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Beg S'chase

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Arvicta trained by James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made several jumping errors.

E. Walsh, rider of Black Samurai (GB) trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made jumping errors early on.

352B Rybo Ladies National H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed James Andrew Fahey, trainer, concerning his failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Scully's Dream. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that owing to the conditions of this race he had considerable difficulty in securing the services of a suitable lady rider before declarations closed despite his best efforts. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the nomination of Ms. N.A. Barry on this occasion and took no further action other than to advise the trainer of his future responsibilities under Rule 195.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Envol Pierji (FR), trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a small wound on the right hind, but was other wise post race normal.

Ms H. Mooney, rider of King's War trained by Mrs Ann Mooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was carried out by a loose horse.

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last involving Braeside, ridden by Ms L. O'Neill, placed second and Kavanaghs Corner (FR), ridden by Miss E. Toomey, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Ms. L O'Neill was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered her record, they cautioned her on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed Miss A. O'Sullivan, rider of Well Joey, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Miss O'Sullivan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b) in that she had used her whip unnecessarily, after her chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone. Having taken her previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned her on this occasion.

352C EasyFix Equine H'cap S'chase

At the request of the Stewards, Rachael Blackmore, rider of Paloma Blue, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount made a bad mistake five from home, but was not travelling at the time.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Paloma Blue, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.

The Stewards interviewed M.P. O'Connor, rider of Game Of War, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M.P.O'Connor was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion.

352D Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) Hdle

Owing to the trajectory of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for hurdle number five to be omitted from race four and race five.

The Stewards interviewed Rachael Blackmore, rider of Minella Melody, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that she felt her mount was going to lean on the railing which caused her to use her whip in quick succession as a precautionary measure. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and took no further action.

352E1 Kettles Country House Fingal M'dn H'dle

The Stewards informed S.R.B. Crawford, trainer of Legacy Thor, that a repeat performance in the behaviour of his charge who refused to jump off when under starters orders, may render the animal liable to future suspension.

352E2 Kettles Country House Fingal M'dn H'dle

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Gold Creek trained by Aengus King, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left when under pressure.

352F Irish Racing Industry Fundraiser Hcp Hdl

The Stewards enquired into an incident after by passing the third last involving Star Max (GER), ridden by H. Morgan, Millen To One, ridden by A.W. Short, Minx Tiara, ridden by D. Meyler and Jiving Jerry, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, where it appeared interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by the presence of a loose horse and therefore took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined One For Joe, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

352G Willie Elliott Memorial (P-A) Flat Race

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Highland Charge, ridden by Mr. Pat Taaffe, placed first and Reality Cheque, ridden by Mr. P.W. Mullins, placed second, where it appeared Reality Cheque met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that Mr. Pat Taaffe was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 2 racedays. Mr. Justice Tony Hunt, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
