279A Fairyhouse Members Claiming Race

The Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs from the finish involving Camilla Gherardini, ridden by L.T. McAteer, Jackstaff, ridden by W.J. Lee, and Asfastaslightening, ridden by J.M. Sheridan where it appeared that Gherardini checked when Asfastaslightening made an outward manoeuvre. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, W.J. Lee stated that the incident took place in front of his mount and he took a precautionary check. L.T. McAteer stated that his mount was going back out of the race when suffering slight interference from an outward manoeuvre by Asfastaslightening. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount had come off the bridle when he gave him a squeeze but he jumped onto heels. He switched him left and tried to climb off heels but his mount overexaggerated the move. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that J.M. Sheridan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for two racedays.

279C Treo Eile Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final one hundred and fifty yards involving Yester, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, and She's In The Game, ridden by Neve Bennett where it appeared that She's In The Game collided with Yester when making an outward manoeuvre. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.J.G. Ryan stated that he received a bump from Yester which caused him to get unbalanced in the saddle. Neve Bennett stated that she was trying to steer her mount out from behind Mullacash Buzz when the filly changed her legs and over exaggerated the manoeuvre. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that Neve Bennett was in breach of Rule 214 in that she had ridden carelessly. Having considered her previous record in this regard, the Stewards suspended her for five racedays. Mr T.G. McCourt accompanied J.J.G. Ryan at this enquiry

L.T. McAteer, rider of Lady Arwen (GB) trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he took a precautionary check about one and a half furlongs from the finish.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference about one furlong from the finish involving Secret Road, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth, and Hot Sunset (GB), ridden by James J. Doyle, placed fourth, where it appeared that Hot Sunset (GB) drifted outwards and possibly carried Secret Road wide. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.T. Keane stated that his mount was wearing headgear for the first time and any interference had no bearing on his final placing. James J. Doyle stated that his mount was lugging in behind the leaders and then began to run around before drifting toward Secret Road. Having considered the evidence and viewed the video recording, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action other than to advise James J.
