L.T. McAteer, rider of Sense Of Romance trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost action just before the line.

The Stewards requested a report from D.J. Bunyan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of J J Jumbo, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. D.J. Bunyon reported that the return to the all weather surface where J J Jumbo had previously ran well is what he attributed to his charges apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Honey Girl (GB), concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the second and third strikes were for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that B.M. Coen was in breach of R10.3(g) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 7 racedays.

B.M. Coen, rider of Honey Girl (GB) trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls.

K.J. Leonard, rider of Phoenix Open (USA) trained by S.M.Duffy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly from 2 and a half furlongs from the finish.

The Stewards reviewed an incident turning into the straight involving Capla Knight, ridden by L.T. McAteer, and Phoenix Open (USA), ridden by K.J. Leonard where it appeared both horses made contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Effernock Fizz, trained by Miss Katy Brown, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards enquired into the conduct of Mr. Daniel Dunne following the running of Effernock Fizz in this race under the provisions of Rule 272. The Stewards received a report alledging Mr. Daniel Dunne was verbally abusive towards J.C. Kearney, rider of Effernock Fizz. Mr. Daniel Dunne reported that he was irate over the ride given to Effernock Fizz and as a consequence of this may have spoke louder than normal. However he disputed that he was verbally abusive towards the rider. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation.
