The I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer examined Asfastaslightening, trained by Jack W. Davison, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from M. Halford, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Slieve Binnian, placed first, as compared with its recent form. He stated that he felt he ran well on ground softer than ideal on his previous run and switching to tonights surface brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of No Trouble trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keenly.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Bring Us Paradise (GB) trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keenly early on.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of No Trouble, ridden by J.A. Heffernan and trained by John C. McConnell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.A. Heffernan stated that his mount ran keenly off a slow pace and emptied quickly when asked for an effort in the home straight. He also stated that his mount shied from a horse on his inside late on. John C. McConnell's representative Martin Fox stated that he was satisfied with the ride and confirmed the instructions. The Stewards also received a report from the I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer who stated that No Trouble was found to have a nasal discharge post race. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.

R.C. Colgan, rider of El C Wells trained by Thomas J. Gray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount wandered when he hit the front.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Early Strike (FR) trained by D. Buckley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right under pressure.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Little Trigger trained by P.F. McEnery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was stopped up the straight.

The Stewards interviewed M.A. Enright, rider of Chutzpal, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned,in his evidence M.A. Enright accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) frequency, and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that M.A Eright was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) frequency and taking his record for this offence into consideration they cautioned M.A. Enright.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Chocolat Blu trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount became upset in the stalls.
