337A Value Cabs 3-Y-O H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Old Victoria (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be distressed post race. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into an incident about two and a half furlongs from the finish involving Snapius, ridden by G. Brouder, and New Year Honours (GB), ridden by Sam Ewing where it appeared that New Year Honours (GB) made contact with Snapius when manoeuvering out to make her challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, G. Brouder stated that he was on a straight racing line when New Year Honours (GB) came up his inner and then manoeuvered out and made contact with his own mount. Sam Ewing stated that Snapius came back in towards the rail after the third last hurdle and he angled his own mount to make a challenge. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found Sam Ewing was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned Sam Ewing on this occasion.

337B Tayto Group M'dn H'dle

The Stewards interviewed D.P. Maxwell, rider of The Wallpark, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, D.P. Maxwell accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines for frequency but told the Stewards that his mount was running around a bit and he had lost count. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.P. Maxwell was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.P. Maxwell for two racedays.

The Stewards granted permission for Eddies Joy,trained by E.D. Delaney, to run in this race without the declared tongue strap as the filly was proving to be difficult when it was applied.

337C Charles Hurst DS H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ebasari, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pats Choice, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

337D Ladbrokes Champion S'chase

D.N. Russell, rider of Galvin, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled during this race.

P. Townend, rider of Kemboy (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount slipped a couple of times in the early part of the race.

337E Eventsec S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Delvino, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, D.J. O'Keeffe admitted that he had marginally breached the whip guidelines in relation to frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. O'Keeffe was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.J. O'Keeffe for one raceday.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fighter Allen (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Owing to the low elevation of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence #3 to be omitted from this race

At the request of the Stewards, P. Townend, rider of Fighter Allen (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced too keen in the early part of the race and later on, stopped quickly.

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Archies Charm (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, B.J. Cooper admitted that he had marginally exceeded the whip guidelines for frequency and said that he had difficulty judging the final stages of the race when facing a strong sun. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that B.J. Cooper was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using hiswhip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned B.J. Cooper on this occasion.

At the request of the Stewards, M.P. Walsh, rider of Envol Pierji (FR), trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly before being pulled up.

Following a request from broadcasters, the Stewards granted permission for this race to be delayed by + 1 minute.
