The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.D. Hayes replaced L.F. Roche on Lavinuela, trained by Ross O'Sullivan (Race 2)(injured)

201A 100% Magners Irish Cider Race

The Stewards fined J.P. Murtagh, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Heart Stealer, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Heart Stealer in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).

The Stewards requested a report from L.F. Roche, who was detained in the ambulance room, regarding the fall on the flat of Kodi Dream (GB) approximately mid way through this race. L.F. Roche reported that his mount took a false step at the roadway, unseating him. Reports were also requested from G.P. Brouder and R.P. Downey. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that the fall was independent and they therefore took no further action.

201D Magners Light H'cap

R.C. Colgan, rider of Wadood trained by D.Broad, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left.

R.P. Downey, rider of Sally Gap trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped in running.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Magsmillie trained by William Durkan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was struck into and lost a hind shoe.

201E Her Majesty's Plate

The Stewards interviewed H.Rogers, trainer of Benkei, in relation to the late withdrawal of his charge. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who complimented the presentation of the ground but stated that this evening's going was not what he was hoping for, as 5mm rain which was forecasted did not fall, which would have changed the going in favour of his charge. He added that his charge is a heavy horse who would not have been suited to this evening's going. Evidence was also heard from Mr. B. Sheridan, Irish Horse Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course, who agreed with Mr. H. Rogers' assessment of the ground and confirmed that the 5mm of rain forecast never materialised. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the late withdrawal of Benkei.

201F Magners Original Apprentice H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Easy Boy, trained by Patrick Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting:

Mr. R.S. Martin (Chairman),
Mr. L. McFerran,
Mr. C.P. Magnier,
Mrs T.K. Cooper,
Mr. M.F. O'Donoghue.

The Stewards met to consider a report from Mr. C. Gordon, Irish Horse Regulatory Board Senior Security Officer, concerning a verbal altercation in the stable yard prior to the commencement of racing. The Stewards interviewed Mr. B. Daly and Mr. W. Buckley, stable yard security staff, Miss K. Browne, Trainer and Mr. D. Dunne, Assistant Trainer to Miss K. Browne. Mr. B. Daly stated that he was verbally abused with bad language on two separate occasions by Mr. D. Dunne. Mr. W. Buckley confirmed the evidence of Mr. B. Daly. Mr D. Dunne did not accept that he verbally abused Mr. B. Daly, that it was a misunderstanding and he apologised. Miss K. Browne stated that she did not witness the verbal altercation. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. D. Dunne was in breach of Rule 272, and having considered his previous record in this regard severely reprimanded him regarding his verbal behaviour on this occasion. The Stewards further informed Mr D. Dunne that any future breach of Rule 272 in relation to his conduct could render him liable to being referred to the Referrals Committee and his right to admission to the stable yard possibly being withdrawn.
