120D WorkPal H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the reason why all sections of the third last hurdle were lying flat for the second circuit of this race instead of upright. Evidence was heard from Mr. B. Sheridan, Clerk of the Course, and Mr. C. Lyons, Course Foreman. Mr. Lyons stated that the hurdle marshalls had mistakenly begun to take down this hurdle after the first circuit not realising that this hurdle was to be jumped a second time. Mr. Sheridan stated that it was an error by the marshalls. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards reminded the Clerk of the Course and Course Foreman of their responsibilities and to ensure that the marshalls are more thoroughly briefed at future meetings.
