M.P. O'Connor, rider of Scheu Time trained by J.A. Nash, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards interviewed P.T. Enright, rider of Run For Oscar, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the first two strikes were a long way out and his mount was not going forward for him. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that P. T. Enright was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered P. T. Enright's record in this regard the Stewards suspended P. T. Enright for one raceday.

The Stewards requested a report from T.G.McCourt, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dollar Value (USA), placed first, as compared with its most recent run. T. G. McCourt stated that his charge is a quirky sort who had recently refused to line up at Sligo and last time out at Galway on the 28th of July there were two false starts and his charge was reluctant to race on the third start. He added that his charge had raced with a positive attitude today and this coupled with a change of bit and leaving off any headgear had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

P.T. Enright, rider of Eric Carmen trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount weakened badly on the run in.

223D Frank & Brian Fitzsimmons (M) H'cap Hdle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Lighthouse Rose, ridden by C.A. Landers, placed second and Mullaghmore Wave, ridden by B. Hayes, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. A. Landers stated that he had suffered interference all the way up the straight, that there was contact between the two horses and he felt it had cost him the race. B. Hayes stated that C. A. Lander's horse had bumped him first and he had won well at the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Mullaghmore Wave had caused interference to Lighthouse Rose, she did not improve her finishing position as a result of the interference so they made no alteration to the judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that B. Hayes was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended B. Hayes for three racedays.

P. Townend, rider of Rain In Spain trained by Charles O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

C.A. Landers, rider of Lighthouse Rose trained by Mark Michael McNiff, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was stopped three times up the straight.

223E Joe Rea Memorial M'dn H'dle

Sarah Kavanagh, rider of I Don't Get It trained by Neill McCluskey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount slipped going into the first hurdle.

The Stewards requested a report from L.Young, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ruler Of Dubai, placed first, as compared with its recent form. L. Young stated that his charge had previous good runs at Tramore and Downpatrick. He added that he had found the ground too slow last time out and the better ground today had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

223F Quam Felix Sumus H'cap H'dle

B.J. Cooper, rider of Lil Codey trained by C.A.McBratney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost it's action coming down the hill.
