188B Sheehy Motors Volkswagen Trophy H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Tar Heel, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fifth and Dacesa, ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth, where it appeared interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

188C Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards enquired into the late arrival of J.M. Sheridan, rider of Passaggi, trained by Seamus G. O'Donnell in race 5 and Bahlwan, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, in race 6, which necessitated a rider change in both races. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had encountered transport difficulties on route to his engagements which had delayed him significantly and apologised for this. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered on this occasion and reminded J.M. Sheridan of his future responsibilities in this regard.

188D Keeneland Phoenix Stakes

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving The Lir Jet, ridden by O.J. Orr, placed third and Aloha Star, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second, where it appeared interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Aloha Star had caused interference to The Lir Jet and in doing so had improved its finishing position. The Stewards therefore reversed the Judge's placings of the second and third placed horses. Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied that C.D. Hayes was in breach of Rule 214 (carelessly riding) by failing to take reasonable steps to avoid causing interference. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended C.D. Hayes for 1 raceday.

The amended result now reads;
1st Lucky Vega,
2nd The Lir Jet,
3rd Aloha Star,
4th Laws Of Indices,
5th St Marks's Basilica,
6th Bubbles On Ice.

188G Guinness H'cap

C.D. Hayes, rider of Silvertown trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room and was struck into from behind.

The Stewards wished to enquire into an incident before the bend involving Carrytheone (GB), ridden by S.B. Kelly, Sky Seven, ridden by R.P. Whelan, and Silvertown, ridden by C.D. Hayes, where it appeared Carrytheone clipped a heel and unseated S.B. Kelly before running through the railing, but were unable to proceed with enquiry as S.B. Kelly was receiving medical attention. The Stewards therefore referred this matter to the Referrals Committee for consideration.

188H Hashtag ForTheLoveOfKildare (F) M'dn

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Martha's Vineyard trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away and ran green.

At the request of the Stewards, O. McSweeney, rider of Rose Tinted Sand, trained by D. K.
