194E Sentinel Ireland Equine Products H'cap

B.M. Coen, rider of Sonnyboyliston trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Sonnyboyliston, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed first, Thundering Nights, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed second and Lord Park, ridden by A.J. Farragher, placed third, where it appeared that Lord Park got tight for room between horses and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings, however, were satisfied that B.M. Coen was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended B.M. Coen for 2 racedays.
