171D Meath Farm Machinery H'capG.P. Halpin, rider of Captain Power trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared up leaving the stalls.
N.G. McCullagh, rider of Wild Bob Cat trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount didn't handle the track and got unbalanced.
171E Scotch Hall Ladies Day H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident 2 furlongs from the finishing line involving Cache Queen, ridden by R.P. Cleary, Sheila's Empire, ridden by C.D. Maxwell and Stander, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, where it appeared that Shiela's Empire clipped heels unseating C.D. Maxwell. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Gallagher was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended M.A. Gallagher for 4 racedays and reminded him of his future responsibilities.
171F Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha H'cap H'dleA. Ring, rider of Benny In Milan trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.
171G Kitchen Restaurant At The Thatch Nov.HdlJ.J. Slevin, rider of Feel Des Mottes (FR) trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.
171H Anglo Printers H'cap H'dleThe Stewards interviewed J.J. Slevin, rider of Pass Hymn (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.J. Slevin was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 3 racedays.
The Stewards interviewed W.M.Roper, trainer, regarding a complaint he wished to make concerning the starting procedures in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned and also from B.J. Cooper, rider, and Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter Mr. J.R. Banahan. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been executed and they therefore took no further action.
The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter,Mr. J.R. Banahan, that the actions of D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Thecraicisninety (GB) at the start of this race, had caused a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the evidence and took no further action.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Thecraicisninety (GB), trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
