The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

J. S. Bolger, trainer of Vocito (Declared in error) - €320.

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

162A John Madden & Sons Claiming Race

The Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the home straight involving Catch Kodi, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced and Rusla, ridden by D.N. Curran, placed sixth, where it appeared that Catch Kodi ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. C. Colgan stated that he was dropping back and there was contact between the two horses causing him to check briefly. D. N. Curran stated that his mount hung into the rail as he passed the horse on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D. N. Curran was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered D. N. Curran's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

162C Treacy's Pharmacies H'cap

O.J. Orr, rider of Black Cat Bobby (GB) trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount slipped turning in.

W.J. Lee, rider of Starting Monday trained by Gillian Scott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle the track and found todays going too quick.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Starting Monday, trained by Gillian Scott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

162D Bay Leaf H'cap

The Stewards reviewed an incident leaving the stalls involving Chacha Dancer, ridden by O.J. Orr, Nakao (GB), ridden by Ciara Flynn, Hanbags N Gladrags, ridden by W.J. Lee, Fragaria, ridden by G.F. Carroll, Al Rafiq, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Speedy Pix, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, where it appeared that several horses came together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by several horses jumping awkwardly and that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Calvados, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

O.J. Orr, rider of Chacha Dancer trained by Christopher David Timmons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered leaving the stalls.

W.J. Lee, rider of Hanbags N Gladrags trained by Andrew Kinirons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered leaving the stalls and got unbalanced turning for home.

James J. Doyle, rider of Calvados trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran off the first bend.

G.P. Brouder, rider of Astrophysicist (GB) trained by Gearoid Patrick Brouder, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was very green and looked at the stalls second time round.

162E Paddy Smyth Memorial Apprentice M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident turning for home involving Dewcup, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed third, My Mate Mozzie, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed second and Phoenix Cowboy (USA), ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, where it appeared that Dewcup ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that his mount is a big raw horse who hit a ridge and became unbalanced and that any interference caused was minor and did not affect his finishing position. D. W. O'Connor stated that his mount changed legs and rolled in slightly. Sam Ewing stated that his mount rolled in as he passed the horse inside him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while D. W. O'Connor's mount had rolled in for a stride he had taken all reasonable measures to avoid causing interference and they took no further action. The Stewards did however remind D. McMonagle and Sam Ewing of their responsibility to give accurate evidence at enquiries. K. O'Ryan accompanied Sam Ewing at this enquiry.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of My Mate Mozzie trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lugged in at the top of the bend.

162F Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Only Sky, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

162G1 GAIN The Advantage Series H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Clan Jock, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed fifth and Cois Sionna, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, where it appeared that Cois Sionna had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that his mount was green and tired and rolled in when he hit him with his left. J. A. Heffernan stated that he had to check as the horse on his inner moved in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Sam Ewing was in breach of rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered Sam Ewing's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Sam Ewing for two racedays. Sam Ewing was accompanied at this enquiry by Mary Nugent.
