Referral Hearing - Adrian Sexton

Adrian Sexton / Breach of Curragh Training Grounds Regulations

The Referrals Committee, Dr. Gordon Holmes (in the Chair), Mrs. J.O. Onions and Mr. Peter N. Reynolds met at the Turf Club, The Curragh, Co. Kildare to consider the referral of Adrian Sexton, trainer, by Denis Egan, Keeper of the Matchbook, in respect of two horses under his care which were found to be using the Curragh Training Grounds on 4th March 2009 without being returned in training.

Evidence was heard from Paul Hensey, General Manager, Curragh Racecourse and Training Grounds, Pat Kelly, Manager of Curragh Training Grounds and Adrian Sexton.

Having considered the evidence the Committee found that Mr. Sexton was in breach of Rule and Order 24 and fined him €1,230 in respect of each omission (€2,460 in total) and asked that the matter be noted by the Licensing Committee.
 
The case was presented by Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
