J.P. Murtagh Appeal (2) - Dundalk 12th October 2007

The Appeals Body, Division Two, Mr. G.B. Scanlan (in the Chair), Mrs. T.K. Cooper and Mr. Roderick Ryan met at the Stewards Room, Leopardstown Racecourse on Saturday 3rd November 2007 to consider an appeal from J.P. Murtagh, Rider, against the severity of the ban imposed by the Acting Stewards at Dundalk on 12th October 2007 when following the running of the MCR Cleaning Fillies Maiden he was suspended for three racedays for careless riding.
Evidence was heard from C.D. Hayes, Rider of Rose Hip, M.C. Hussey, Rider of Corkscrew Hill, J.P. Murtagh and Eddie Byrne, Authorised Riders Agent for J.P. Mutagh.  Videos of the race were also viewed.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body reduced the three day suspension to two days  (Friday 9th and Friday 16th November).

The case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Brian Price, Wilkinson & Price Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.
