D.C. Byrne Appeal Hearing

D.C. Byrne Appeal – Dundalk, 30th October 2009

The Appeals Body, Division Two, Mr. Raymund S. Martin (in the Chair), Dr. J.F. Gillespie and Mr. Hugh Ferguson met in the Stewards Room, Dundalk Racecourse, Co. Louth on Wednesday, 11th November to consider an appeal from D.C. Byrne, rider of “Lake Pontchartrain” against the severity of the ban imposed by the Acting Stewards at Dundalk on 30th October 2009 when following the running of the www.louthholidays.com Handicap he was suspended for one raceday for careless riding.

Evidence was head from D.C. Byrne, D.M. Sweeney, rider of “Rockazar (GB)”, and H. Rogers (D.C. Byrne’s Master).

Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body dismissed the appeal.

The case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
