The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.P.McDonogh replaced C. O'Donoghue on Cockney Wren (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 1)(see report)
S. Foley replaced D.P. McDonogh on Rainfall Radar (USA), trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 2)(injured)
M.C.Hussey replaced D.P. McDonogh on Balaclava, trained by Charles O'Brien (Race 4)(injured)
R.P. Whelan rode Rock On Rosie (reserve) , trained by Adrian Brendan Joyce (Race 3)

103A Hen And Stag Median Auction Fillies M'dn

The Stewards fined P.D. Deegan, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Suelou, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards informed Mrs John Harrington, trainer that Cockney Wren (GB), would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Stewards interviewed C. O'Donoghue, rider, concerning his late arrival to weigh out on Cockney Wren (GB), which resulted in him being substituted with D.P.McDonogh. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 196(v) and having considered his recent record in this regard, fined him €400.

The Stewards fined W.J. Martin, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Prodlic, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.W.Fleming, that M.J. Kenneally, rider of Ben Bourgas,placed sixth, failed to weigh in. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Ms. Sheila Lavery, trainer, who accompanied the rider in the Stewards room. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered his record, severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. Furthermore Ben Bourgas was disqualified in accordance with Rule 230.

103C Phelim Byrne's Seasuir At Wexford H'cap

The Stewards interviewed C. O'Donoghue, rider of Palavicini Run, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g), in that he used the whip with his arm above shoulder height and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Catch Word trained by Eoin Griffin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran free in the early stages.

103D Wexford Median Auction M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Nelson Road, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth and Zilbiyr (FR), ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Kubali, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal, having lost a right hind shoe.

G.M.Lyons, trainer of Kubali, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge lost a hind shoe in running.

Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Zilbiyr (FR) trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked in on the final bend.

103E Campile Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Pincode, ridden by O.J. Orr, placed third, Bridle Path, ridden by D.M. Redmond, placed second and Dew Line, ridden by R. Coakley, placed fifth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the interference was accidental and took no further action.
