The Stewards received a request from Gordon Elliott, trainer of Mischief Maisy, to substitute the nominated rider M.P. Fogarty, with B.T. O'Connell, due to the unavailability of the rider which had not been established at the time of nomination of riders. Having considered the evidence of Mary Nugent, Authorised representative of Gordon Elliot and also the trainers record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned Gordon Elliot concerning his responsibility to confirm a riders availability before nominating that person to ride. The Stewards allowed the request.

The Stewards requested a report from Paul Power, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Drakaina, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul Power reported that his charge was a very small filly who was unable to handle soft to heavy underfoot conditions and had benefitted from today's good ground. He also felt that the lesser standard of contest today was another contributing factor. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
