The Stewards requested a report from John G. Carr, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Fergiethelegend, placed first, compared with its recent form. The Stewards interviewed J.M. Moore, rider of Asitsohappens, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, including a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Veterinary Officer, Mr A. Tyrrell, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg 10.3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force and having taking his previous record into account, cautioned him with regard to his future responsibilities.

He also added he had being in contact with Horse Racing Ireland and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board before the deadline closed to explain the situation. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action. Mr. Rupert MacAuley did not attend this enquiry.
