195B Shelmalier Median Auction Race

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Vocaliser, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gerard Flynn, Authorised representative of J.S. Bolger reported that the drop in class of todays race, being able to dictate the pace of the race and the fitting of ear plugs would have been contributing factors to todays success. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

195D Shelbourne H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from P.D. Deegan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Duke Of Medina, placed first, as compared with its recent form. P.D. Deegan reported that he could not offer any explanation for the poor run at Leopardstown 18th June other than his charge is laid back and has to be ridden strongly and consequently was in contention a long way out at Leopardstown whereas today the pace of the race suited better. He also added that his horses have recently hit form with two winners in the last two days having gone almost a month without success. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

195F Monart Destination Ladies Day H'cap

E. D. Delany, trainer of Sweet Cherry, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped abnormally post race

195G Ballaghkeen H'cap

The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Moon Dice, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.W. Kennedy was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday. Paul W. Flynn, trainer of Moon Dice, accompanied J.W. Kennedy at this enquiry.
