The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr.D.Skehan rode Red Flight (reserve) , trained by David Harry Kelly (Race 4)
Mr.B.O.'Neill rode Baby Lenson, trained by P.A.Fahy (Race 8)(reserve)

197B Tintern Abbey H'cap H'dle

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Shan Dun na nGall, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

197C(i) Monart Destination Spa Evening Hcap Hdle (Division One)

The Stewards interviewed Ms. M.M. Gannon, trainer of Mariens All Star, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the stable yard, which lead to his withdrawal. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 19, in that her horse had not arrived in the stable yard half an hour before the race and having considered her clean record, cautioned her concerning her future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving The Rite Article, ridden by I.J. McCarthy, placed first and Cadawill, ridden by C. Brassil, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Soft Seventeen, at the request of trainer, P.A.Fahy, and reported the animal to have lost a hind shoe and sustained some cuts in running.

C.M. Walsh, rider of Mista Wabbit Man (GB) trained by R.Donohoe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped in running.

197C(ii) Monart Destination Spa Evening Hcap Hdle (Division Two)

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Nevada Rose trained by H. Smyth, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount made a bad mistake and was pulled up.

The Stewards requested a report from John E. Kiely, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Definite Income, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative reported that his charge disappointed on her last start when having made a mistake at the first hurdle she appeared to loose her confidence thereafter. He added that she appeared to jump better today stepped up in trip and ridden more prominently. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

197D Ferrybank Opel Beginners S'chase

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Overtures (GB) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly.

197E Martinstown Opportunity H'cap S'chase

John J Fitzpatrick, rider of Taboo trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up.
