The Stewards received a report from the I.H.R.B Veterinary Officer, Ms. Nicola O'Connor that Empire Burleque, trained by Gordon Elliott, presented lame on his right hind limb on arrival today rendering the horse unfit to run, this being the second successive occasion following a simular circumstance at Ballinrobe on 12-8-19, where the same animal was withdrawn at a pre-race inspection. Evidence was heard from Barney Flood, authorised representative for Gordon Elliott and the I.H.R.B. Veterinary officer, who outlined her report and stated that she had spoke with Simon McGonagle, authorised representative for Gordon Elliott by phone who was aware of the animals history and was of the view that the animal would free up prior to racing. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Empire Burleque from this race under the provisions of Rule 18 and referred the matter to the C.E.O. of the I.H.R.B. for further investigation.
