Protecting the Integrity & Reputation of Irish Horseracing

Tipperary 5th August 2016

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

W.M. Lordan rode Bridgebrook (GB) (reserve) , trained by Andrew Slattery (Race 6)
P.J. Smullen rode Shepherds Crook (GB) (reserve) , trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 7)

213A McGrath Oil Claiming Race

The Stewards requested a report from H. Rogers, trainer, into the apparent improvement in form of Byron Beauty, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that this filly was forced to race unsuitably prominently in Galway last time. This filly does not like being crowded in-running and he felt that she may have appreciated racing towards the outside in the straight. Having considered the trainer's report the Stewards noted its contents.

Charles O'Brien, trainer of Trissino, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 8th August that his charge stumbled after leaving the stalls and badly cut his near hind as a result.

213B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med.Auct.(F)Mdn

P.J. Smullen, rider of Blue Bahia, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he was never happy with his mount at any stage.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Blue Bahia, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Decisive Intent (GB), trained by John M. Oxx, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

213D(i) Dan Dooley Ford Centre H'cap (Division One)

The Stewards requested a report from Adrian McGuinness, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Rigid Rock, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that he could offer no explanation for the poor run at Dundalk last time other than that the horse has a tendency to run inconsistently. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

213D(ii) Dan Dooley Ford Centre H'cap (Division Two)

K.J. Leonard, rider of Annagassan (GB) trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was awkward leaving the stalls.
