The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, P.W. Murtagh, that Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Youarewonder, had weighed in at 1.2lbs light. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he arrived late to weigh out and had no difficulty with the weight, however, he had to use the toilet afterwards and suggested this as being the only possible reason for the loss of weight. Evidence was also heard from John Nolan, head travelling man for John James Feane, trainer of Youarewonder. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Halpin had breached rule 231 by failing to draw the correct weight to within 1 lb and in accordance with the provisions of this rule they disqualified Youarewonder. The Stewards further found John James Feane to be in breach of rule 147 (v) by failing to lodge the appropriate authorisation form appointing a representative in his absence and fined him €130.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Lake Takapuna trained by J.H. Culloty, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up near the finish having got very tired.

B. Hayes, rider of Knockanarrigan trained by Ms. Sandra Hughes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled when he was struggling to get his wind.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Kinnitty Castle trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.

The Stewards considered a complaint from riders B.J. Cooper and S. Flanagan in relation to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the riders who stated that they carried out correct starting procedures but a number of horses began to break into a gallop long before the tape was released. They felt that in allowing horses to gallop before the marker poles was breaking the rules and causing uncertainty amongst riders which in turn causes starting difficulties. Evidence was also heard from Derek Cullen, Turf Club Starter, who stated that he was satisfied that all riders were in a line and ready for a fair start to be effected. He added that the new amplifier and recording system was not at this meeting this evening as it had not been ordered. Further evidence was also heard from P.F. Graffin, Clerk of the Course. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected and therefore noted the riders complaint. Furthermore the Stewards confirmed that the Turf Club would be requested to consider providing the new amplifier and recording equipment at all N.H. starts in the future.

The Stewards received a report from P.W. Murtagh , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr L.J. McGuinness , rider of Pat's Oscar , weighed in at 2.3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he was riding in his lightest saddle but had a small quantity of fluid after weighing out and could not account for the amount of overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that rMr L.J. McGuinness was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Toast (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be struck into behind but otherwise was post race normal.
