The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

A. McCurtin replaced M.P. Burke on Pumbaa, trained by John M. Burke (Race 3)(Injury, see enquiry).
D.N. Russell replaced M.P. Burke on Like An Open Book, trained by John M.Burke (Race 5)(Injury, see enquiry).
D.E. Mullins replaced M.P. Burke on Hey Groovy, trained by John M.Burke (Race 6)(Injury, see enquiry).

353A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beg S'chase

At the request of the Stewards, D. Meyler, rider of Polar Present, trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount checked on the approach to the straight due to being unable to hold his position.

353B Molony Cup H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed Mr L. Quinlan, rider of Allied Victory, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10.3.(b) (chance gone) (f)(frequency) and Reg.10.4.(time to respond) and having taken his record into account suspended him for six race days and ordered the rider to attend RACE for 1 day's instruction in the correct use of the whip.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.P. Holden, rider of Loch Luatha, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he weighed-in overweight due to having a drink after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. Holden was in breach of Rule 231 (iii) and having taken his record into account, they cautioned the rider.

353C Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap S'chase

Owing to low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for Fence 3 (third last fence) to be omitted from this race.

C.A. Landers, rider of Bellgrove trained by P.M. Cloke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was flat out all the way.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that K.J. Brouder, rider of Seskin Flyer, presented himself at the scales to weigh out at 5lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer, Mr. Patrick Carey. Mr. Brouder stated that he fully expected to be able to do the weight but declared a possible +2lbs as a precaution. However on arrival at the track he found he was much heavier than this. Mr. Carey stated that he had been assured by Mr. Brouder there would be no problem with the weight apart from a possible one or two pounds overweight but in the circumstances he was happy for the rider to carry the extra overweight in the absence of any other conditional rider present capable of riding at this weight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the rider to carry the overweight but were satisfied K.J. Brouder was in breach of Rule 198 (vii) and having taken his record in this regard into account, they imposed a fine of €150.

353D I.S.F. EBF Boreen Belle (M) Novice H'dle

Owing to low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for Hurdle 3 (third last) to be omitted from this race.

R.M. Power, rider of Rovetta (FR) trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount didn't handle today's going.

353E Jimmy Neville Memorial H'cap H'dle

M.P. Walsh, rider of Voices Of Spring, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had blood on the nose post race.

Owing to low lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for Hurdle 3 (third last) to be omitted from this race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Voices Of Spring, trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood on the nose as a result of an exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Eight Till Late, ridden by B. Browne, Scheu Time, ridden by P. Townend, and Like An Open Book, ridden by D.N. Russell, where it appeared Like An Open Book had his ground taken momentarily by Scheu Time and rolled onto Eight Till Late. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards attributed the incident to accidental interference and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last hurdle involving Political Policy, ridden by G.N. Fox, and The King Of Brega, ridden by D. Robinson, where it appeared The King Of Brega was carried towards the stand side. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Mr. Fox to ride with more care in future.

353F Horse & Jockey Hotel Rated Novice H'dle

Owing to operational reasons, the Stewards granted permission for the third last hurdle to be omitted from this race.

353G Fogarty Concrete (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race

At the request of the Stewards, Ms L. O'Neill, rider of Conflated, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount cocked its jaw and ran out as they entered the straight on the first circuit.

The Stewards considered a request from trainer, John M. Burke, to substitute the riders of Like An Open Book (Race 5) and Hey Groovy (Race 6) with D.N. Russell and D.E. Mullins respectively. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who explained that the declared rider M.P. Burke had been injured at home since declaration which was why he was requesting the change of riders. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitutions.
