The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

P. Townend replaced G.N. Fox on Lilshane, trained by Thomas P.O'Connor (Race 6)(unwell)
R. Walsh replaced P. Townend on Total Recall, trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 4)(Stewards permission)
J.J. Slevin replaced Rachael Blackmore on Sub Lieutenant, trained by Henry de Bromhead (Race 4)(injured)
R.M. Power replaced Rachael Blackmore on Ellie Mac, trained by Henry de Bromhead (Race 5)(injured).
H. Morgan replaced Rachael Blackmore on Surf Instructor, trained by Henry de Bromhead (Race 6)(injured).

014A Red Mills Irish EBF Auction M'dn H'dle

The Stewards interviewed D.F. O'Regan, rider of Mason Jar (FR), concerning his use of the whip in this race, following a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary officer, that the animal was found to be marked post race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.F. O'Regan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive force. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account and allowing for mitigating circumstances, the Stewards suspended D.F. O'Regan for 1 raceday.

014C Matty Ryan Memorial H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that C.J. Orr, rider of Youngnedofthehill, had presented himself to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight which was not declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who explained the circumstances surrounding the overweight and apologised for this. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion following consultation with Shane Nolan, trainer of Youngnedofthehill. Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied C.J. Orr was in breach of Rule 198(vii) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 3 racedays.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Polished Steel, ridden by R.M. Power, placed fourth and Smiling Eliza, ridden by M.A. Enright, placed third, where it appeared Polished Steel ran short of room on the inner and was forced to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Smiling Eliza had caused interference to Polished Steel and in doing so, had improved his finishing position as a result of the interference caused. The Stewards therefore reversed the placings of the the third and fourth placed horses. The amended result now reads; 1st The King Of Brega, 2nd Ask Nile, 3rd Polished Steel, 4th Smiling Eliza, 5th Western Boy and 6th Youngnedof the hill. Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Enright was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having taken his previous record in this regard into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

014D Horse & Jockey Hotel S'chase

The Stewards interviewed J.J. Slevin, rider of Sub Lieutenant, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.J. Slevin was in breach of Regulation 10.3. (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned J. J. Slevin on this occasion. Mr John Murphy, Chairman of the Stewards absented himself from this enquiry and Mr. Jack Rearden acted as Chairman.

014E Coolmore NH Sires EBF(Mares)Novice S'ch

A.E. Lynch, rider of Tell Me Annie trained by Declan Queally, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Tell Me Annie, trained by Declan Queally, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

Owing to the low lying Sun, the Stewards granted permission for the third last fence to be omitted from this race and for the remainder of the card.

014F Racing TV Free Trial H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed Thomas P.O'Connor, trainer of Lilshane, concerning the conduct of this horse who misbehaved before the start of this race and ran off the track early in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Lilshane was subsequently examined by the Irish Horseracing Rergulatory Board Veterinary officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported the animal to be post race normal. Having viewed a recording of both incidents, and considered the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the Referrals Committee under the provisions of Rule 14.

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Mullins, rider of Double Portrait, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Mullins was in breach of Regulation 10 3.(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10.3(a), in that he had used his whip down the shoulder while in the forehand position. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended D.E. Mullins for for 4 racedays.

P. Townend, rider of Lilshane, trained by Thomas P.O'Connor, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran out in this race for no apparent reason.
