McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Lake Takapuna, placed first, as compared with its previous chase run at Limerick on the 14th July. A.J. McNamara, Authorised representative for R.P. McNamara, reported that their charge had only transferred from it's previous trainer a short time before the race at Limerick and appeared to be fit to run but disappointed on the day and was subsequently found to have no post race abnormality when examined by the IHRB Veterinary Officer on duty. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

272E After-Party At Lola Montez Hcap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Island Master, trained by W.J. Burke, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

R.A. Doyle, rider of Brontide trained by Conor O'Dwyer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled throughout this race.

The Stewards interviewed R.A. Doyle, rider of Brontide, trained by Conor O'Dwyer, concerning his riding from the last fence where he appeared to stop riding before the finish and lost fifth place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had never travelled and he felt that as he had no more to offer after jumping the final fence he did not apply any pressure. He admitted that he did not realise that there was any challenger. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.A. Doyle was in breach of Rule 212 A by stopping riding and losing fifth place. Having taken his good previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended R.A. Doyle for 2 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Mullins was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip.
