176A Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pakens Rock, trained by Barry T. Murphy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have some skin abrasions on his right stifle otherwise he was post race normal.

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Pakens Rock trained by Barry T. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly throughout this race.

L.P. Gilligan, rider of Mick Mixy (GB) trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left and ran green.

176B Connolly's Red Mills Rated Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Judgement Day, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on his right foreleg post race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shawshank, trained by Paul Nolan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed K. Brogan, rider of Soldier At War (GER), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that K. Brogan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended K. Brogan for 1 raceday.

A representative of Paul Nolan, trainer of Shawshank, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge has a palate problem.

176C Larry O'Farrelly Memorial H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the last hurdle and the winning post involving Ashqar, ridden by P.T. Enright, placed second and Bective Cave, ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared that Bective Cave came off a straight course and may have made contact with Ashqar. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Matthew J. Smith, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bective Cave, placed first, as compared with its previous run at Downpatrick. Matthew J. Smith reported that his charge ran well to a point in Downpatrick but the track and ground conditions did not suit him on the day. He added that his charge had disappointed previously at Downpatrick. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

176D Leo Dolan Memorial H'cap H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Watching Brief trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran too free during this race.

The Stewards fined Ronan M.P. McNally, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to See Double You, prior to entering the parade ring.

176G EBF (Mares)(Ladies Pro/AM) INH Flat Race

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mis Colleen Murphy, that Miss S. Doyle, rider of Getaway Some Day, had presented herself at scales at 4lbs overweight while weighing out. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that her father had secured the booking to ride this animal and she believed that her weight was in order. John Neilan, trainer of Getaway Some Day, confirmed the riding arrangement and made a case to be considered as an exceptional circumstance. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed Miss S. Doyle to ride Getaway Some Day at 4lbs overweight as they deemed that there was an exceptional circumstance under Rule 198 (vii)(b). Furthermore the Stewards found Miss S. Doyle to be in breach of Rule 195(i) and Rule 198(vii)(a) and imposed a fine of €150 as this was her first offence in this regard.
