The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

A.Ring rode Red Flight (reserve) , trained by David Harry Kelly (Race 3)
Miss J.M.Cook rode Edith Somerville, trained by Sabrina J. Harty (Race 7)(see report).

170A Athleague M'dn H'dle

J.J. Burke, rider of Annabell Rose trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.

170C Martinstown Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Carlingford Prince, at the request of trainer, F. Flood, and reported the animal clinically abnormal post race.

J.S. McGarvey, rider of Badgerfort trained by John E. Kiely, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst blood vessels in running.

170D Leo Dolan Memorial H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a report from Mr.P.L.Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.E. Splaine, rider of Kennedys Mor , weighed in at 1.6 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for one race day.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined From Frost (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

John Anthony Staunton, trainer of Warreedy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge burst blood vessels in running.

170E Athlone H'cap H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Show's Over, trained by F. Flood, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have coughed post race (samples taken for analysis).

170F roscommonracecourse.ie INH Flat Race

The Stewards granted permission for Black Sam The Man to run without a tounge tie as the horse appeared to resent it and was unwilling to go to the start.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Aqua Traverse, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal post race normal.

170G EBF (Mares)(Ladies Pro/AM) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Sabrina J. Harty, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Edith Somerville. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that despite her best efforts, she was unable to secure a rider before declaration time. She added that she subsequently booked Miss J.M.Cook for her charge. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 195 and reminded her of her future responsibilities in this regard.
