212D Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beg S'ch

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Grey Waters, placed first, as compared with its recent form over fences. Brendan Powell, Authorised representative of Joseph Patrick O'Brien reported that their charge made a mistake in a big field of runners and never got back into the race at Punchestown 3rd May and her more recent run over fences at Killarney 12th May again produced mistakes before being carried wide by a loose horse which effectively put an end to her run. He felt that her more prominent position today allowed her to stay with the pace despite making mistakes and in his opinion she needs to find her feet without being rushed. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

At the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Darling Miss, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lugged to the right in the closing stages of this race.

R.A. Doyle, rider of Sunrise Lady trained by Conor O'Dwyer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost her action after the second last fence.

212F Michael Holland Tyres H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed Mr D.T. McGrath, rider of October Revolution, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr D.T. McGrath was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr D.T. McGrath for 1 raceday.
